Clermont, Fla. — Trinity College of Florida (TCF) has officially announced the launch of its new football program, with the Tigers set to begin competition in the 2026 season. The addition of football marks a significant milestone in the college’s continued growth and commitment to expanding athletic opportunities for student-athletes.

The TCF Tigers Football program will be headquartered at the college’s Clermont operations site while maintaining strong ties to the main campus in Trinity, Florida. Program leadership has already begun active recruiting, staffing, and infrastructure development in preparation for the inaugural season.

“We are excited to officially bring football to Trinity College of Florida,” said Head Coach and Director of Football Operations Takashi Walker. “This program is being built with a clear vision — to develop high-character student-athletes, compete at a high level, and create a strong football culture that represents Trinity with excellence on and off the field.”

Since the program’s announcement, TCF has focused on:

  • Recruiting its inaugural class of student-athletes
  • Building a qualified coaching and support staff
  • Establishing training and operational systems
  • Developing community and sponsorship partnerships

The Tigers plan to compete as an independent program initially while pursuing future membership in the Sun Conference (NAIA).

The launch of football creates new opportunities for prospective student-athletes seeking:

  • A Christian-centered collegiate environment
  • Competitive college football experience
  • Academic degree pathways
  • Individualized player development

TCF leadership emphasized that the program is designed to support both athletic and academic success while maintaining the college’s long-standing mission and values.

With the inaugural season approaching, the Tigers will continue roster expansion, host prospect camps and visits, and finalize their first competitive schedule. Additional announcements regarding staff hires, facilities, and game details are expected throughout the coming months.
